To all overseas students,
After the discussion among course teachers, School of International Education and Provost Office, and considering the demands and levels of overseas students, Chinese Public courses for overseas students will be rearranged into Basic ChineseⅠ, Basic ChineseⅡ, Intermediate ChineseⅠ, Intermediate ChineseⅡ, Advanced ChineseⅠ, Advanced Chinese Ⅱ and China Overview. The total is 10 credits. The courses are arranged like this:

The students should present their official academic record of HSK in order to get the exemption for certain Chinese course. If you haven’t taken official HSK before and wish to get exemption, the course teacher can do a mock HSK test for you. You need to pass a certain HSK level to get the approval for exemption. The mock test is taken during the months of the term.
According to the adjustment of Chinese courses, Provost Office has emptied the list of all overseas students who have registered in “Basic Chinese” and returned all applications for the course exemption. Therefore, all overseas students must login Graduate System to make personal course plan and register Basic Chinese I, Intermediate ChineseⅠor Advanced ChineseⅠ as grouped by the course teacher. In addition, those who still want to apply course exemption must login the system and apply exemption again. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the re-registration.
Graduate system will be available for your course registration or exemption from Nov. 9th to Nov. 22nd. Make sure to finish course registration or exemption before the deadline. No excuse were accepted if you missed the deadline. The result of application can be checked after Nov. 26th.
